Action movies continue to be popular and have been for a long time. The formula has a certain quality that makes it effective. Big explosions, muscular men and women, gunplay, fights, you name it. Action movies frequently perform well at the box office because of their potential for global appeal. It is an international tongue. Over the years, notable action stars have included Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. But who are today’s biggest action stars? The names at the top of our list are these. Additionally, despite the fact that many “comic book” movies may be categorized as action movies, we did not include them in this list. Generally speaking, we didn’t want this to include all of the MCU and DC Extended Universe’s stars.

Dwayne Johnson
Currently, Johnson is the biggest action star and possibly the biggest movie star. The former Rock is capable of promoting an action movie by himself. Without Johnson, are we seeing “Skyscraper” or “Rampage”? Most likely not, but since Johnson starred in them, we watched. The man is an experienced action star and skilled wrestler.
Keanu Reeves
For almost 30 years, Reeves has been one of the biggest action stars in the world. It started with movies like “Speed.” The “Matrix” movies followed. He then turned to “John Wick” after that. Reeves is still starring in both the “Wick” and “Matrix” films, which are both still in production. Not bad for a person who began his life as Ted Logan.
Emily Blunt
The latest action film “Jungle Cruise” stars Blunt and Johnson, who make for an excellent action movie two-hander. Blunt still has her credentials even though “A Quiet Place” and its follow-up are more horror movies than action movies. Have you watched her “Edge of Tomorrow” performance? At that point, you are aware that she can succeed as an action star.
Chris Pratt
Pratt does appear in the MCU, but his action roles extend far beyond his role as Star-Lord. In the “Jurassic World” movies, he replaced Chris Pratt as the face of the “Jurassic Park” franchise. And it’s not all already-existing IP. Additionally, Pratt appears in the action film “The Tomorrow War.”
Mark Wahlberg
Wahlberg is your man if you want to throw together a B-action film. Even though his films are rarely enormous successes or beloved by critics, they are successful. He will act in war films, true-crime films, or come out to hang out with the Transformers. Wahlberg is well-known enough that Paramount+ chose his film “Infinite” as their first exclusive release.
Charlize Theron
I doubt that we need to say anything else but “Mad Max: Fury Road.” But that happened a few years ago. But Theron isn’t savouring her success as Furiosa. We really enjoy her film “Atomic Blonde,” which was featured in “The Old Guard,” which was a success for Netflix.
Tom Cruise
Cruise is close to 60 years old, yet he continues to be one of the top action stars in the world. What makes it possible? How does he survive doing the “Mission: Impossible” movies? We don’t know how Cruise does it, but whenever his blockbuster action films come out in theatres, we are always there to see them.
Donnie Yen
You definitely recognise the name of Yen if you enjoy action movies from Hong Kong and martial arts movies. He is currently one of the biggest names in that industry. Yen has also appeared in American films, with “Rogue One” being the most notable. He appears in the action films “Mulan” and “XXX: Return of Xander Cage.” Additionally, he will be seen in the fourth “John Wick” film.
Jason Statham
Statham primarily produces action and crime films. Additionally, he excels at it. Statham is only one of the numerous “Fast and Furious” series actors we could mention. He has also appeared in movies like “The Expendables” and “The Meg” in addition to those mentioned above.
John Cena
Another action star, another “Fast and Furious” cast member, and another ex-wrestler. Cena excels at comedy as well, but he is unquestionably no stranger to action. Even though Cena is still somewhat new to acting outside of the ring, things are going well for him so far.
