At the age of 32, South African actress Charlbi Dean fell away in August 2022. Four months later, the cause of the Black Lightning star’s passing has been made public.

At the age of 32, Charlbi Dean, a well-known actress and model from South Africa, passed suddenly in August of this year. The actress who played Black Lightning unexpectedly passed away, shocking her admirers to their core. The true cause of her untimely death, however, was not made public at the time. After around four months, the true cause of Charli Dean’s death has finally come to light. The actress-model passed away from a sickness called “Bacterial Sepsis,” according to the most recent sources.
In an interview with USA Today, a representative for the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in New York City said that Charlbi Dean’s death was brought on by a condition known as bacterial sepsis. The sepsis was brought on by the bacterium Capnocytophaga, according to the medical examiner’s office. In a meeting with the media, the spokesperson stated that Charlbi Dean’s issue resulted from asplenia (the absence of a spleen) caused by a remote blunt trauma to her torso.

The death of the actress was not determined to be an accident by the Chief Medical Examiner’s office. According to accounts, Charlbi Dean was involved in a serious car accident in 2009. After the accident, the actress-model had to have her spleen removed. A few hours before she died, Dean reportedly started experiencing some minor symptoms, according to her brother Alex Jacobs. He claimed that the events described included developing a headache, going to bed, waking up her boyfriend, and requesting to be taken to the hospital all occurring over the course of a single day. The reason of death, however, was still unknown to Charlbi Dean’s family at that time.
Bacterial sepsis: What is it?
For those who are unaware, several species of capnocytophaga are thought to produce the rare illness known as bacterial sepsis, which is said to develop in human mouths. The reports state that dogs and cats also have this bacteria in their mouths. People with weakened immune systems, such as alcoholics, people who had their spleen removed, cancer patients, and HIV patients, are more likely to acquire this illness.
