Renaming of NTR Health University In Andhra Pradesh, there is a political uproar about the renaming of NTR Health University. The opposition and the government are in direct contact. According to former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the government won’t gain popularity by renaming the university.
Change in the name of NTR Health University: The Andhra Pradesh government’s intention to change the name of NTR Health University has sparked a political storm. Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the largest opposition group, has voiced disagreement to the government’s suggestion.
TDP employees raised a commotion
On Wednesday, TDP employees caused a commotion in the state legislature and legislative council. He interfered with the proceedings by pleading with the authorities to drop the idea.
TDP participants suspended
Due to their interference with the meeting, all TDP members were expelled. The marshals ejected him from the residence on Speaker Tammineni Seetharam’s orders.
Slogans raised “NTR Amar Rahe”

The father of Jagan Mohan Reddy is YSR.
Currently, the University of Health bears N.T. Rama Rao, also known as NTR, was the late founder of the TDP and former chief minister. Former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, also known as YSR, has been appointed by the YSR Congress Party. The Son of YSR is Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Chandrababu Naidu made the government a target.
The Jagan Mohan Reddy administration has come under fire from TDP President and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for rebranding NTR Health University. He claimed that the action demonstrated the government’s insolvency. The university should maintain its current name. Naidu stated that he would vehemently resist any efforts to resume it.
A name change won’t make you more popular.
How can you name the university after your father since NTR constructed it, Naidu asked Jagan Mohan Reddy. NTR’s son-in-law Naidu encouraged the chief minister to establish new institutions rather than rename existing ones because doing so would not increase his popularity.
NTR Health University has increased security.
As many TDP leaders and supporters arrived at NTR Health University in Vijayawada to demonstrate, police increased security there. Police detained TDP leader Davini Uma and other leaders for protesting.
In 1986, NTR Health University was founded.
In order to advance medical education in United Andhra Pradesh, NTR founded a separate health university in 1986. When NTR passed away, then-chief minister Chandrababu Naidu gave the university his name. None of the chief ministers, including Jagan’s father YSR, he claimed, had considered renaming the institution.
Convocation was not held despite spending 450 crores.
The TDP leader claimed that the chief minister was renaming the university despite his failure to establish a new institution in the state over the previous three and a half years. He claimed that after taking away Rs 450 crore from the university, the government failed to hold even a single convocation.
