On the occasion of Hindi Diwas on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent greetings to the country, saying the language has brought “unique honor” to India. Prime Minister Modi tweeted a salute to the country in Hindi, saying that its simplicity, spontaneity, and sensitivity appeal to the masses. He also expressed gratitude to those who worked “tirelessly” to advance the Hindi language.

Amit Shah, the union home minister, emphasized the value of Hindi and claimed that it connects the entire country and is a friend to all regional Indian languages.

Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted in Hindi, “Modi’s government is committed to the parallel growth of all native languages, including Hindi.

The home minister stated in his speech that there are nearly 22 different languages in India, each with its own historical significance. “Hindi has been able to achieve its own status keeping in sync with all other regional languages. The language has established a special place in people’s hearts. All other languages have also developed along with the Raj Bhasha,” he said.

The minister also outlined the justifications for making Hindi the national tongue.

Given Hindi’s importance in bringing the country together, the minister said it was chosen as the official language of the Constitution. “All our independence fighters used Hindi as a language to link people to win Swaraj for India.”

Raj Bhasha units have been set up to promote Hindi in different places across the nation and abroad, including Fiji, Dubai, and other nations, he added. “Hindi has been embraced in all ministerial and paperwork work,” he said.

With approximately 65 crore speakers globally, Hindi is the fourth most widely spoken language in the world. To commemorate the Constituent Assembly’s 1949 decision to make Hindi the nation’s official language, Hindi Diwas is observed.
