With a remarkable trajectory, the Kannada film Kantara has become a blockbuster, earning over Rs. 16 crores in just five days of release. With 15.50 crores rupees, Karnataka has generated the most of the movie’s revenue. The rest of the country has brought in about 35 lakhs rupees, with Mumbai contributing the lion’s share.

The movie had a slow Friday opening in Karnataka, but evening and nighttime showings saw a significant increase. The weekend’s earnings nearly quadrupled to Rs. 3 crore on Saturday, and then increased significantly again on Sunday, reaching Rs. 4 crore as the movie’s showings continue to rise. The movie performed remarkably well on Monday, bringing in revenue similar to that of Saturday, but yesterday, thanks to the Ayodhya Puja holiday, it competed with Sunday. Today is expected to be the movie’s largest day of its current run in terms of ticket sales.

Bengaluru city is a close second to South Canara as the top performer for the movie. South Canara, where the Shetty brothers have significant influence, consistently outperforms other markets for their films. The movie is already beginning to compete with KGF Chapter 2 in the area, with footfalls yesterday that were comparable to those KGF 2 recorded on its opening day. Kantara’s five-day attendance is just marginally below KGF 2’s, but KGF 2 has much greater collections as a result of its more expensive tickets.

The following table details Kantara’s box office earnings in India:

FridayRs. 1.60 crores
SaturdayRs. 3.05 crores
SundayRs. 4.10 crores
MondayRs. 3.10 crores
Tuesday Rs. 4 crores
TotalRs. 15.85 crores
