After Maharashtra, BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’ in Goa, big trouble for Congress?

It led to a significant power struggle in Maharashtra. Next followed the Shinde and Fadnavis administrations. There is currently a debate over whether Goa will be the next state targeted after Maharashtra. There are rumors that Operation Lotus has also begun in Goa. Five months have passed since the assembly elections. Following it, there was talk in the political sphere that Congress would have a major issue. This was also motivated by the same factors.

After Maharashtra, BJP's 'Operation Lotus' in Goa, big trouble for Congress?

Congress is expected to gain significantly in Goa despite being preoccupied with the “Bharat Jodo Yatra.” Goa’s state head of the BJP, Sadanand Shet Tanawade, made a shocking assertion. He asserted that 8 of the 11 Congress legislators are following the BJP.

The BJP currently has 20 MLAs while the Congress currently has 11 MLAs in the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly. 10 Congress MLAs collectively joined the BJP in July 2019. The Goa Congress was rumored to be splitting up a few months ago. When Congress MLAs arrived at their meeting, this conversation began.

It appears that Rahul Gandhi’s 150-day Bharat-Jor Yatra may deal Congress a significant loss in Goa. The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is being proposed to run from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, is currently on its eighth day. Recently, BJP dealt the JDU a severe blow as well, and many of the JDU’s Goa MLAs defected to BJP.
